Queensland Government population projections: Interactive map (data visualisation)
This interactive map provides an opportunity to view the projected population and growth for Queensland regions, based on the Queensland Government Population Projections (2023 edition) for Statistical Areas Level 2 (SA2) and Local Government Areas.
- Click on the map to view projected population figures for the selected area and projections year.
- Click on the 'Search' icon (magnifying glass) on the top left to open the Search sidebar.
- Update the layers by selecting the preferred geography or projections year.
- Search for a suburb, SA2 or LGA to view projected population figures for the selected location.
While efforts have been made to ensure the interactive map is available on mobile devices, this tool is best viewed on a laptop or desktop monitor.
Queensland's Population Future (data visualisation)
This interactive dashboard provides an overview of Queensland's projected population change at State, Statistical Area Level 4 (SA4), Statistical Area Level 2 (SA2) and Local Government Area (LGA) level based on the Queensland Government Population Projections (2023 edition). An examination of the age structure of the future population is included, with a focus on the older population and school age children.

Broadhectare map (data visualisation)
Queensland Government Statistician’s Office’s broadhectare study identifies the location and quantifies the area, timing of development, and dwelling yield of larger land parcels to house a specified region’s growing population. Each study involves consultation and collaboration with local government, the Urban Development Institute of Australia (Queensland) and major developers.

Interactive projected school-aged persons map, 2023 edition (data visualisation)
The projected school-aged persons maps (and tables), 2023 edition, provide the average annual growth of projected primary and secondary school–age persons, by statistical area level 2 (SA2) in Queensland, from 2021 to 2046 by five–year projection interval, in both spatial and tabular formats.
This release is consistent with the Queensland Government population projections, 2023 edition.
The Interactive projected school-aged persons map, 2023 edition provides access to average annual growth of projected primary and secondary school–age persons data, for all Queensland SA2 regions. It features the ability to search for street addresses and school names, zoom capabilities and a Google road map layer.
