Household and dwelling projections State
The 2023 edition Queensland Government population projections were produced in late 2022. Since then, updated demographic information was released and this was used to produce the 2023 edition update. This update focused on the population projections for the State of Queensland as well as Greater Brisbane GCCSA and Rest of Queensland SA4s only. The 2023 edition products remain the current version for all other projections products. Each product is labelled with either 2023 edition or 2023 edition update. Please be mindful of the associated version of the product used.

Projected dwellings, by series, Queensland, 2021 to 2046 (table)
This table provides a time series of projected dwellings for Queensland by five–year projection interval. Three series of projections (low, medium and high) are provided to account for a range of possible outcomes. Projected dwelling occupancy rates are also provided.
This table was produced using data from the Queensland Government population and dwelling projections 2023 edition.

This table provides Queensland state–level low, medium and high series household projections by household type from the Queensland Government household and dwelling projections 2023 edition.
Household types reported:
- couple family with children
- couple family with no children
- one parent family
- other family
- multiple family household
- lone person household, and
- group household.
Projected population, by series, by living arrangement, Queensland, 2021 to 2071 (table)
This table provides a time series of the projected population of Queensland by living arrangement (family, lone and group households). Three series of projections (low, medium and high) are provided to account for a range of possible outcomes.
The source of these data is the Queensland Government household projections 2023 edition. These projections of the population by living arrangement belong to the suite of household projections as they are a direct output of the modelling undertaken to generate the Queensland Government household projections. As such, these figures match other household projection results, and they also align with the Queensland Government population projections 2023 edition.
